Route: Cerro del Caballo

The journey to where we begin this route is approximately one hour in 4x4 from Lanjarón via forest track.

Difficulty: High.
Duration: Around 7 and 9 hours (7h - 9h).
Persons: Minimum 4 persons / Maximum 30 persons.

Minimum Age: 12 years.

After a sharp ascent of five kilometres over a distance of 800 metres of incline, which leads us up by the South-west face and within two to three hours we find ourselves on the summit (3.011 m.) with fantastic views of the as far as Granada and the Mediterranean. As we descend we pass the “Caballo” Lake and on till we reach the “Refugio Vivac”, from here we take a steep descent towards the “lagunillas de los lavaderos” until we reach the river of Lanjarón, we continue our descent and enjoy the spectacular views of the Lanjarón Valley. Once we reach the car park we are greeted by transport which will take us back to Lanjarón.

Route: Pico de Alcazaba

Difficulty: High.
Duration: About 7 and 9 hours (7h - 9h).
Persons: Minimum 4 persons / Maximum 12 persons.

Leaving by bus from the village of Capileria it approximately takes an hour to reach the point of where we start our climb. We begin by climbing up to the Mirador of Trevelez (2.700 m.). After a sharp climb of 8 km. over a distance of 800 metres of incline which takes between three and four hours we pass by the gorge “Siete Lagunas” (Seven Lakes), we face the final climb to the West face. Once at the top we decend by the same route which approximately take two to three hours, then we return to Capileira by bus.

Route: Tajos de los Machos y Pico de las Alegas

Duration: About 6 and 8 hours (6h - 8h).

Time of Year: All Year.

We leave from Lanjarón by 4x4 which takes us to the starting point of our climb, this takes a little over an hour. We set off walking from the “Refugio El Puntal” 2.300 m. We climb a diagonal route of about 4km by a small ravine lined with Pine trees and small shrubbery until we reach the peak, with fantastic views of the Valley and of Poqueira and Lanjarón. This climb can take between 90 minutes and three hours depending on the physical fitness level of each participant. We decend via the “Pico de las Alegas” (2.709 m.) the Southwest face of the mountain and within approximately a couple of hours we are once again at the “Refugio El Puntal” where we can rest and have a snack before heading back to Lanjaron by 4x4.

Route: Mulhacén

Leaving from Capileira in 4x4 or shuttle bus for the Mirador of Trevelez (2.700 m.) We have a gentle climb of 800m. over the distance of 6km. climbing the South face or “Loma del Mulhacen”. we descend by the East face towards the Lake “Caldera” a steep decent over 2km. from here we pick up the 5km. trail that takes us back to the Mirador where we began.
